To Do · A Mending Project is a project created by artists Michelle Montjoy, Anna O’Cain, and Siobhán Arnold, in response to the escalation of political, social, and economic tensions in the United States that have increased a sense of divisiveness within our culture.  Beginning in 2018 at 1805 Gallery in San Diego, numerous pop-up events and then a three month engagement at MCASD, the artists have mended clothing in public spaces. Focusing on the act of repair they have also sought the support of their community, asking other artists, craftpersons, and activists to share their knowledge; organizing free workshops for the public.  Topics have ranged from traditional, domestic, and repair tasks to movement, breathing, and sound experiences.
